Privacy Policy
Kossak Music Studio ("we," "us," "the studio") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through our website and our mobile app, how we use it, and who we share it with. By using our website or app, or by providing us your information, you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
When you or your family use the studio's app or website, we collect:
- Account details — your email address and a password (used only to sign you in).
- Contact information — name, phone number, and address.
- Student information — the names and birthdays of the students you enroll. Where a student is a minor, this information is provided by the parent or guardian who holds the account; the app is intended for use by adults, not by children.
- Emergency and drop-off details — emergency contacts and the approved adults you list for a minor's pickup, collected on the enrollment/waiver form.
- Lesson and scheduling information — the lessons you buy and the times you book.
- Payment records — the amount, date, and method of your payments. We never see or store your card number — card payments are handled entirely by our payment processor (see below).
2. How we use your information
- To manage lessons, bookings, packages, and make-ups.
- To process payments and send receipts.
- To send you booking confirmations, cancellations, and reminders.
- To reach you in an emergency and for essential studio communications.
- With your consent, to send optional studio news or performance newsletters (you can opt out anytime).
3. Payment processing
Card payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. Your card details are entered into Stripe's secure system and are governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy. The studio and its app never receive or store your full card number.
4. Service providers we share with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the trusted providers that help us run the studio and the app, each under their own privacy and confidentiality obligations:
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Supabase — the secure database and sign-in service that stores your account and studio records.
- Resend — sends the studio's emails (confirmations, reminders, receipts).
- Google Calendar — holds the studio's lesson schedule.
- Apple & Expo — deliver the app and its notifications.
We may also disclose information if required to comply with the law.
5. Your choices & your data
You can review or update your information in the app at any time, and opt out of non-essential emails. You can delete your account from within the app whenever you like (go to Account → Delete my account), or email us at Admin@KossakMusicStudio.com to request deletion or a copy of your data.
When you delete your account, we erase your login and personal contact details: your profile, the students on your account, emergency contacts, and waiver contact information. We retain a limited set of records we are permitted to keep for legitimate business and legal reasons: your payment history, a record of the lessons provided, and proof that a waiver was signed. These are kept identified by name only, not by your email, phone, or address.
6. Security
We use encryption to protect information transmitted online and rely on reputable providers to store it securely. No method of transmission is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to safeguard your data.
7. Children
The app and website are intended for parents, guardians, and adult students. We do not knowingly allow children to create their own accounts. Any information about a minor is entered by the adult who manages that family's account.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes are effective immediately upon posting, with the "last updated" date above.
